The Diocese of Baghdad Welcomes the Arrival of Patriarch Nona

Today, Monday, 18 May 2026, Patriarch Paul III Nona arrived at Baghdad International Airport, at the Presidential VIP Lounge, at 12:00 noon. He was received by Archbishop Bashar Matti Warda, Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Erbil; Bishop Basilius Yaldo, Patriarchal Auxiliary; Mr. Ezzeddin Majid, Deputy Head of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic; and Mr. Sakvan Murad Jundi, Director General of the Planning Department.

 

Also taking part in the reception were the priests of the Patriarchal Diocese of Baghdad and representatives of the religious orders serving in Baghdad. They welcomed His Beatitude upon his arrival in Baghdad and accompanied him to the Chaldean Patriarchate headquarters in the Mansour district. For his part, His Beatitude thanked everyone for their warm reception and love.
