Chaldean Brotherhood Meetings in Melbourne

(Partners in Service and Witness)

St. George Brotherhood hosted the following fraternities:

- Our Lady of the Harvest Parish

- Mar Ephrem Chaldean Parish

 

This gathering was part of their ongoing weekly activities and took place on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

The meeting began with the hymn "How Sweet It Is to Gather Together," sung by all those present.

 

Fr. Saleem Goga then welcomed the attending priests:

- Fr. Nihad Al-Qas Moussa, Pastor of the Resurrection Church for Syriac Catholics

- Fr. Sand Basil, Pastor of Mar Ephrem Chaldean Parish

 

He also welcomed all the members of the Mar of the Harvest and Mar Ephrem Brotherhoods, expressing his appreciation and gratitude for their presence and participation. Conveying the greetings and welcome of the esteemed Bishop Paulos Mangana, the parish priest, he also expressed his gratitude to the Brotherhood of St. George for sponsoring this unique and beautiful activity, which reflects the profound meaning of the meeting's theme: that everyone should be a partner in service and witness to the Lord Jesus.

 

Following this, Monsignor Nihad presented the meeting's theme with a lecture clarifying the deep meanings of service and witness, citing biblical verses and focusing on the opinions expressed by the attendees in their responses to the questions he posed during his lecture.

 

Afterward, the attendees divided into groups for a 20-minute discussion of the questions raised in each group. The priests lovingly led the discussion groups, guided by the principle of true partnership embodied in the meeting's theme. The groups were led by:

 

- Archdeacon Nihad, St. George Brotherhood Group

 

- Father Sand, Virgin Mary, Guardian of the Crops Brotherhood Group

 

- Father Salim Goga, St. Ephrem Brotherhood Group

 

At the conclusion of the discussions, each group presented its summary and findings regarding the questions posed.

 

The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude, a prayer of blessing, and a hymn, led by Father Sand Basil.

 

Afterwards, everyone shared a meal together with joy and gratitude.
