Establishment of the Youth for Jesus Group
The Arabic-speaking Youth for Jesus Group was established on 15 July 2022, under the guidance and supervision of Fr. Hani Ablahad, and the responsibility of Dr. Baraa Maskoni and Mr. Baher Qoda. The youth group continues to operate under the guidance and pastoral care of Fr. Paul Mingana, the current parish priest.
Meaning of the Youth Group’s Name:
The idea behind the name of the youth group comes from the Lord Jesus, who embodied all true human values and calls us today to walk in His footsteps with love and faith. Therefore, inspired by the loving spirit of the Lord Jesus, the youth chose the name “Young Jesus.”
From another perspective, the name reflects the fact that the youth of the Church are its living spirit and beating heart, possessing the strength and determination to serve and give despite today’s challenges. As the Church is deeply concerned with youth formation and nurturing them in a spirit of love following the example of Young Jesus, the youth group was established and inspired by this name to serve as a foundation for a Christian formation program.
